Accessibility Statement
Last Updated: May 2026
At GroundWork, we are committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards to guarantee our civic ledger and reporting tools are usable by all residents, workers, and administrators.
Conformance Status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.
GroundWork strives to adhere to WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards. We have actively incorporated accessibility into our design and development processes.
Accessibility Features
Our platform includes the following accessibility implementations:
- High Contrast UI: Our dark theme utilizes high-contrast colour palettes (e.g., bright orange on deep greys/blacks) to ensure text and interactive elements are highly visible.
- Keyboard Navigation: All interactive elements, including modals, dropdowns, and form submissions, are fully navigable using a keyboard.
- Semantic HTML: We use native
<dialog>elements, proper heading hierarchies, and ARIA labels where appropriate to support screen readers. - Scalable Typography: Our fonts (Public Sans) scale naturally with user browser preferences without breaking page layouts.
